PM Modi flags off Bhopal-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express


Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off Bhopal-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express from Rani Kamlapati railway station in Madhya Pradesh today. The new train will run between Rani Kamlapati Railway station of Madhya Pradesh and Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station in Delhi is the eleventh Vande Bharat train in the country. The train will cover a distance of 701 kilometres in 7 hours 30 minutes and will run on all days except Saturday. It will have stoppages at Veerangana Laxmibai Jhansi, Gwalior and Agra. Vande Bharat train will start for the general passengers from tomorrow.

Addressing the gathering at Rani Kamlapati Railway Station in Madhya Pradesh, Mr. Modi said, Vande Bharat Express train is a shining example of New India's potential, scale and speed. He said, it also gives impetus to tourism and employment. Prime Minister said, Vande Bharat train has showcased the skill, potential and confidence of the nation. He said in the last nine years, government's continuous efforts are on making Indian Railways as safer and most efficient railway network in the world. Mr. Modi said, there is a huge demand for Vande Bharat Express across the country.

During the event, MP Governor Mangu Bhai Patel, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw were also present at the occasion. On this occasion, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the Prime Minister's intention regarding rail development in Madhya Pradesh is clear, and that's why he has increased the rail budget for Madhya Pradesh by 21 times to Rs 13 thousand 607 crores.

He informed that railway projects worth Rs 84 thousand crores are going on in Madhya Pradesh. He further said that after making Rani Kamlapati railway station a world-class station, now taking inspiration from it,1200 stations of the country are being made world-class. It also includes 80 stations of MP. The indigenously designed Vande Bharat train is equipped with state-of-the-art passenger amenities. The train will provide a faster, more comfortable and more convenient travel experience to the rail users.

The new Vande Bharat will cover a distance of 701 kilometers in seven hours and 30 minutes and will run on all days except Saturday. This train is also equipped with advanced state-of-the-art safety features including Train Collision Avoidance System - KAVACH. Every coach is equipped with a CCTV camera and passengers can talk with drivers in emergencies. Vande Bharat train will start for the general passengers from tomorrow. The executive coaches of the train have been equipped with 180-degree rotating seats.
