BJP-IPFT Govt releases report card of 5-year ahead of assembly poll


As the state is preparing for the crucial 2023 assembly election with the opposition political parties hitting the ground with allegations of deteriorated law and order situation, the ruling BJP-IPFT coalition government, Wednesday released the report card showcasing the development of Tripura and achievements of the government during the last five years.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha accompanied by the Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Verma and council of ministers of the BJP-led coalition government unveiled the cover of the report card here at Agartala Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan.

“The BJP-IPFT government has done “enormous” development and welfare works in Tripura and more are in the pipeline,” the chief minister said on Wednesday. He said that the government is working in line with the direction of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He said, “PM Modi wanted to make Tripura HIRA and he has kept the promise by extending full cooperation to the state. At least six national highways were constructed during the last five years while seven more have been sanctioned to boost the connectivity of Tripura. Rs 10,222 crore has been sanctioned for making the state’s lifeline from Churaibari to Agartala. Besides, setting up of 4 Ropeways in the state has been approved.”

Saha also highlighted the government’s achievement in the spheres of agriculture, education, health, law, tribal welfare, and home and infrastructure development since 2018.

Meanwhile, addressing the function the deputy chief minister Jishnu Dev Verma said, “The present state government has created new milestones in every sector including education, health, agriculture, connectivity and infrastructure. Huge success has been achieved in the state in improving power infrastructure including rail, airways and road connectivity.”

He said that the government has published its report card to generate awareness among the public about the welfare works implemented in the past 4.5 years.

“The state government and Asian Development Bank recently has signed a historic contract of Rs. 2,275 crore rupees for the implementation of a power project. As a result, the state is forging ahead with new vision on new direction,” he said, adding that the government is working in mission mode in each and every sector.
