Pradyot denies agreement with BJP, says ‘want agreement with GoI’ on ‘Greater Tipraland’

The TIPRA Motha Chairman Pradyot Manikya Deb Barma Wednesday denied agreement with the BJP party on ‘Greater Tipraland’ and said, “We want agreement with the Government of India.”

Talking to our correspondent on Wednesday evening, Pradyot said, “We have received intimation from the Union Minister of Home Affairs regarding talks on our demand for a constitutional solution to our demand of Greater Tipraland.”

He however denied talks of seat sharing with other political parties and said, “We shall soon hold the talks with the Government of India as per the intimation received.”

“We have repeatedly said that until we don’t get a written assurance from GOI on the constitutional solution of our demand we will not go in for any alliance leave alone seat sharing,” he posted on his social media page.

Meanwhile, Pradyot’s demand for agreement with the Government of India triggered speculation with the possibility of any development in terms of agreement from the government’s end as the model code of conduct for the ensuing assembly election in Tripura is being enforced.
