Tripura CM terms Union Budget 2022-23 as PM Modi's embodiment promises to fulfill people’s aspiration


Agartala, Feb 01: Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Tuesday hailed the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for presenting the people-friendly Union Budget for the 2022-23 fiscal and affirmed that the budget is an embodiment of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's promises to fulfill the aspiration of people and has been drafted with the ''vision of making a new India''. He also said the proposed scheme - Prime Minister's Development Initiative for North East Region - will help boost infrastructure and social development of all the states in NE.

Addressing a press conference on Tuesday evening Deb mainly stressed on Union Budget’s allocation of Rs. 1500 crore for the North East states and PM ‘Gati Shakti’. He said, “The PM Gati Shakti which is a dream project of PM Modi to work with 16 ministries has come up as a booster to the double-engine government in Tripura. I believe that the Gati Shakti will boost the central monitoring system on our developmental works in the state. “Apart from that, 25,000 kilometres of highways are going to be constructed that will also help North East's highway's network in expansion.This will also boost the infrastructural development in Tripura including national Highways and many ongoing railway projects", said Deb.

 Stressing on natural farming techniques which was presented in the Union Budget this year to replace the chemical farming Deb said, “Tripura government is mulling to move ahead with the natural farming techniques which is expected to yield more production with less investments of the farmers. We will work on this taking a cue from Gujrat and Haryana which are implementing the natural farming techniques as part of pilot project.” Meanwhile, while briefing the Union Budget presented on Tuesday by the Union Finance Minister, Deb said, “This budget is for farmers, infrastructural development, employment generation, digitization, increasing growth rate and many other related development."
