CM Dr. Manik Saha leads State-Level celebrations on 11th International Day of Yoga

Agartala, June 21: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Saturday joined hundreds of yoga enthusiasts at the Hapania International Fair Ground to mark the 11th International Day of Yoga. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Saha highlighted the profound benefits of yoga, describing it as a holistic practice that nurtures both the body and mind.
“Yoga promotes balance, strength, and inner peace. It is an ancient Indian tradition that has evolved into a global movement under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” said Dr. Saha during his address. The state-level event was organized by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of Tripura, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from people across all age groups—including students, fitness enthusiasts, and government officials.
Dr. Saha urged citizens to adopt yoga as a part of their daily lifestyle, emphasizing its importance in maintaining physical health and mental clarity. He also lauded Prime Minister Modi’s efforts in bringing global attention to yoga, following the United Nations' declaration of June 21 as the International Day of Yoga in 2014.
Also present at the event were Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Tinku Roy, Deputy Speaker of the Tripura Legislative Assembly Ram Prasad Paul, and other senior officials.The program featured group yoga demonstrations, wellness talks, and awareness campaigns aimed at encouraging healthier living through regular practice of yoga.
