Manipur: Cabinet recommends Kuki-Zo Intellectual Council be declared as ‘unlawful organisation’
Nov 01, 2023A State Cabinet meeting held under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister of Manipur N. Biren Singh recommended the declaration of the World Kuki-Zo Intellectual Council as an unlawful organisation.
It may be mentioned that the World Kuki body has recently issued a press release calling upon the Kuki-Zo community to prepare for another war in November and advised all the youth volunteers of the Kuki-Zo community to equip with arms and ammunition to face the war on the frontlines.
The Cabinet meeting discussed the killing of the SDPO of Moreh and the appeal made by World Kuki-Zo Intellectual Council and decided to recommend the declaration of the Kuki body as an unlawful organisation under section 3 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967.
A police case has already been registered against the organisation yesterday by State Police and investigation has been initiated.
