Minister Tinku Roy attends Annual General Meeting of Tripura School Sports Board
Jul 15, 2025Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports, Tinku Roy, attended the Annual General Meeting of the Tripura School Sports Board on Tuesday. The meeting, held under the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, focused on promoting sports at the grassroots level, especially in schools across the state.
During his address, Minister Roy highlighted the importance of encouraging sports culture among students and spoke on various key initiatives aimed at strengthening the sports infrastructure in Tripura. He reiterated the government’s commitment to nurturing young talent and fostering physical and mental development through active participation in sports.
"School-level sports play a vital role in shaping the future of our youth. The state government is taking proactive steps to expand training facilities, enhance infrastructure, and increase participation in sports activities at the grassroots level," the Minister said.
The meeting was attended by officials from the Sports Department, school authorities, coaches, and representatives from various sports organizations.
The Minister also urged all stakeholders to work collectively to create a strong sports ecosystem in the state, ensuring that young athletes receive the right support from an early age.
