Minor rape after kidnapping again
Oct 27, 2022Before the fire of two gang-rape incidents in the state subsided, allegations of rape again surfaced in Unkoti district. According to the police of Irani police station in Kailasahar, Ahid Ali of Pakhir Bazar village under Isabpur village panchayat of Kailasahar, abducted a minor girl on the afternoon of October 25 and raped whole night.
On October 26, when the minor's family approached the police station, the police managed to rescue the minor from Halaichhara area. Later, the minor girl's family filed a case against accused Ahid Ali. The police investigated the incident and arrested the accused Ahid Ali on Wednesday night. The police learned from the accused Ahid Ali that the minor was kidnapped and raped in a secluded place in Halaichhara area of Kailashahar. The police produced the accused in the court on Thursday. In the past one week, there is intense tension in the public mind due to the rape of minors again in Unkoti district.
