In Women’s Cricket, Indian spinner Sneh Rana created history as she scalped eight wickets against South Africa on the third day of the one-off Test match at the M A Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai this morning. Rana’s exceptional spell, along with Deepti Sharma’s two-wicket haul made the Proteas bowled out for 266 in 84.3 overs in their first innings. Sneh Rana also became the third woman with an eight-fer in Test cricket.
Following their deficit, South Africa was asked to follow on after failing to match India’s formidable first-innings total of 603 for 6. The South Africa Women were 44 for 1, a short while ago. They trail by 293 runs.
Earlier, India amassed a total of 603 for 6, in 115.1 overs in the first innings.
