Biplab Kumar Deb won by getting 43 votes


Biplap Kumar Deb, the ruling party's candidate, won a single seat in the Tripura Rajya Sabha on Thursday. He got 43 votes. Opposition candidate Bhanu Lal Saha got 15 votes. Voting process is going on in the lobby of the Bidhan Sabha from 9 am to 4 pm on this day. Counting of votes was held at 5 pm after the polling. After counting the votes, the election commission announced the results. BJP candidate Biplab Kumar Dev won this by-election as expected.

BJP candidate Biplab Kumar Dev got a total of 43 votes, on the other hand CPIM candidate Bhanulal Saha got only 15 votes. 59 members were eligible to vote in the 60-member Tripura Assembly. The MLA of Simnar lost his right to vote due to his disqualification. Out of 59 members eligible to vote, 58 members exercised their right to vote on this day. A member abstains from voting. After winning the Rajya Sabha by-election today, BJP candidate Biplab Kumar Dev said in his response that the historic victory achieved in 2018 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was reflected in the by-election of this day.

He also said that he will faithfully fulfill the responsibility given to him. He also said that he will present the issues of development of the people of Tripura to the MP. After the announcement of the victory of BJP candidate Biplab Kumar Dev in the Rajya Sabha by-election, BJP activists and supporters rejoiced. State BJP President Dr. Mahesh Sharma, BJP State Spokesperson Sambit Patra, State Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, State BJP President Rajeev Bhattacharya and other leaders congratulated Biplab Kumar Dev by handing over books of hymns. Besides, BJP workers and supporters carried Biplab Kumar Dev in garlands of flowers and carried them in open hooded gari in Agartala city.
