Agartala Science City to encourage students, boost tourism: CM Dr. Manik Saha


Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Wednesday inaugurated the state’s first Science City here at Agartala and said that the government in Tripura is working in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mission of transforming the country into Digital India.

Addressing the gathering here at Agartala Siddhi Ashram, the Chief Minister Dr. Saha said, “Israel, a country of 93 lakh people, is far ahead in the world in terms of science. As a result, they are far ahead of other countries in the world in building advanced equipment and modern infrastructure. PM Modi is also trying to take the country forward based on science and technology.”

“The states of the North Eastern region are on the path of development today due to the Act East policy of PM Modi,” he said, adding that the state of Tripura, which is progressing fast, is blessed with broad gauge railway, high speed internet system, improved road connectivity and beautiful airport with modern infrastructure.

He said that the Science City will play a key role in encouraging students’ fraternity towards science and also it will boost the tourism sector at large.

Science City has been constructed following the guidelines set by the National Council of Science Museums (NCSM).
