Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Friday launched the Tripura School Quality Assessment & Accreditation Framework (TSQAAF), a major step toward improving the quality of school education across the state. The state-level launch event was held at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan in Agartala.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Saha emphasized that education is not merely about earning formal certificates but is a powerful medium for instilling moral values and shaping the character of young minds. He reiterated the government's commitment to transforming the education system in line with the National Education Policy (NEP). "Education must go beyond textbooks and degrees. It should help children grow into morally sound and responsible individuals," the Chief Minister said.
Dr. Saha noted that the state has already made significant progress in implementing the NEP and is focused on creating a healthy, competitive learning environment. The School Education Department, he said, is working tirelessly to turn every school into a center of excellence.
The newly launched TSQAAF aims to bring a structured assessment and accreditation system for schools, much like the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) does for higher education institutions. The framework will help evaluate and enhance the quality of education in schools based on defined standards and parameters.
During the event, the Chief Minister also felicitated key stakeholders and contributors involved in the development and implementation of the TSQAAF.
