Tripura health sector witnessed robust development: CM Dr. Manik Saha


Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Monday hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Ayushman Bharat scheme and claimed that the people of Tripura have been largely benefited from the scheme.

Dr. Saha was addressing an inauguration programme of the newly constructed building of Kanchanmala Primary Health Center on Monday. He said that at a time when the people of this country are being benefited from this biggest health scheme in the world, at least 13 lakhs Ayushman cards had been distributed in the state of Tripura, out of which 2 lakh beneficiaries have already received financial assistance of Rs.300 crores under this scheme.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi is emphasising on improving the health care system of the country, while the Tripura government has given top most priority on enhancing the sector,” Dr. Saha said, adding that all the primary health centers and sub-divisional hospitals in the state will be upgraded progressively and ensure better health care facility for the people.

Underlining the achievements of the government during the last five years in the health sector, the Chief Minister said that earlier, one had to go out of the state for better treatment, but at present people of this state are being benefited by the state’s improved health infrastructure.

Deputy Speaker of the state legislative assembly Ramprasad Paul, Health Secretary Dr. Debashish Basu, and Dukli Panchayat Samiti Vice Chairman Dulal Sarkar among others were present in the inauguration programme.
