CEO chairs all part meet to ensure peaceful Poll counting on March 2


 The Chief Electoral Officer Kiren Gitte on Saturday chaired all party meeting with the representatives of different political parties here at Agartala DM Office and said that the commission has made full progress security arrangement across the state to ensure peaceful Poll counting on March 2 next.

The CEO chaired the meeting after the end of his visit to the eight districts of the state, where reviewed the preparing of the poll counting and took stock of security arrangement.

He sought the cooperation of all political parties in the meeting today. He expressed satisfaction with the role of various political parties in conducting the 2023 Tripura Assembly elections in a free, fair and peaceful environment.

Counting of polls for 60 assembly constituencies of Tripura will be held simultaneously at 21 places in the state. One control room will be opened for each assembly constituency and every political party and candidate will get facility to solve their problem by approaching to the control centre, he told reporters in a press conference held on Saturday.

He said counting of votes  will begin at 8 am with the counting of ballots first. In order to carry out fair counting process, each counting hall will have 1 counting observer and each counting table will have 1 micro observer, he said adding that the counting agents should enter the counting hall following the guidelines of the Election Commission.

He asked all the political parties to submit the list of counting agents of the respective assembly constituencies to the returning officer by 5 pm next on Monday.
