Manipur: Vijay Diwas observed at Imphal remembering valour of Indian Army and triumph over Pakistan in Indo-Pak War of 1971


In Manipur, the Vijay Diwas was observed at Imphal remembering the valour of Indian Army and triumph over Pakistan in the Indo-Pak War of 1971.

 During the programme, Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh said that it is the responsibility of every Indian to strengthen Bharat and that there can be no compromise in making One India a strong India.

 He said that as part of India's Foreign Policy, it is important to maintain good diplomatic relations with the neighbouring countries. However, he said that we have to be cautious on what is happening in the border areas of Manipur by hinting at influxes of Myanmarese in the State due to the conflict in the neighbouring country.

  Mr Biren said that the efforts are underway in the areas of Kamjong and Ukhrul and security forces are advised to not neglect sensitive areas which share border with Myanmar.

 The Chief Minister also applauded and appreciated all security forces, and police in the State for their effort in tackling the present situation and in bringing back normalcy in the State.

 The programme was attended by Ministers, MLAs, Chief Secretary, high ranking civil and police officers.
