Govt committed to develop infrastructures of tribals hostels in Tripura: Minister Bikash Debbarma

The state tribal welfare minister Bikash Debbarma on Monday inaugurated state level programme for distribution award to Madhyamik toppers among the students of ST Hostels and said that the government has taken the initiative to develop infrastructures of all tribals hostels in Tripura.
Addressing the progarmme here at Agartala on Monday, the minister said that apart from education, Janjati students should come forward more in sports and cultural activities.
Government has taken various steps to promote quality education among tribal students, he said, adding that initiatives have also been taken to develop the overall infrastructure of tribal hostels. Toppers in Madhyamik including 23 tribal students and 22 tribal girls students were awarded in the event.
In the event, the tribal welfare minister said that pre-matric and post-matric scholarship money has been increased to encourage tribal students in quality education. On the occasion, he urged the students to register on the National Scholarship Portal by October 31 for pre-matric and post-matric scholarships.
