JRBT Group D results by September 8: Minister Sushanta Chowdhury

In a sigh of relief for the job aspirants, who completed their JRBT Group D examination and has been waiting for the results, the state cabinet has decided to publish the results by September 8 next.
Addressing a press conference here in the conference hall of the civil secretariat on Saturday, the state transport and tourism minister and also the state cabinet spokesperson Sushanta Chowdhury said, “The results of JRBT Group D examination will be published either on September 7 or September 8 next.”
“The publication of the result has delayed because of the model code of conduct of the Lok Sabha election, panchayat elections and then the flood situation in the state,” he told reporters.
Briefing the reporters about multiple decision taken in the cabinet meeting held on Friday last last under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, the minister said that decision has been taken to recruit 916 more police constables including both male and female. He said that presently the process of recruitment of 1000 police constables, for which examination was held earlier, is in the verge of completion and the result will be declared shortly. In addition to 1000 police constables, the cabinet has decided to recruit more 916 constables, he added.
In yet another significant decision, the cabinet has decided to fill up 51 different categories of posts under the Department of Tourism. The posts include Engineer, Computer Assistant, Group-C, Group-D etc, he said, adding that the post has been lying vacant since long.
He said, “The decision of filling up 51 posts has come up at a time when both the Central and the state government is contemplating to boost the tourism sector of the state.”
On the other hand, the minister said that the cabinet also decided to appoint 8 Senior Informatics Officers (Group-A) and 1 Lower Division Clerk under the Department of Information and Technology.
The recruitment process of Senior Informatics Officer through TPSC and Lower Division Clerk (LDC) through JRBT will be completed soon, he added.
The minister also said that the cabinet has decided to increase the salary of 3511 SPOs (Special Police Officers) and 256 drivers working under the department of Home Affairs to Rs 12000.
Wages of pump operators working under the urban local bodies has also been hiked to minimum of Rs 7000 – Rs 7500, he said, adding that the pump operators associated with Iron Removal Plant (IRP) will get a minimum wage of Rs 7,500 per month and pump operators associated with non-IRP will get a minimum wage of Rs 7,000 per month, the minister told reporters.
