Tripura: Five injured as E-rickshaw falls into pond
Nov 20, 2023At least five persons were injured when an E-rickshaw met with an accident and fell into a pond at Dhaliakandi area under Kailashahar sub division. The accident has triggered huge resentment among the common people.
The accident took place when an E-rickshaw bearing number TR02E R1277 while coming towards Kailashahar from Gaurnagar block with four passengers including a ten year old child. The E-rickshaw driver lost control and fell into a nearby pond. As a result all the five persons received injuries.
The locals rushed to the spot and helped the injured persons to get out of the water. The locals also pulled the E-rickshaw out of the water. All the injured persons were taken to Unakoti District Hospital. The ten year old child and the E-rickshaw driver are undergoing treatment at Unakoti District Hospital due to the severity of their condition and the remaining injured people were discharged from the hospital after receiving preliminary treatment.
According to the eyewitnesses the accident occurred due to the reckless driving of the E-rickshaw driver.
The locals also mentioned that accidents rates have increased in the area over the past few days and no action is being taken by the authority to take any measure for controlling the accident rates.
