Two nominations rejected during scrutiny for 22 assembly constituencies for second phase polls in Manipur
Feb 15, 2022In Manipur, two nomination papers have been rejected during the scrutiny of nomination papers for twenty-two assembly constituencies for the second phase election while one candidate has withdrawn his nomination paper. Ninety-six nomination papers were received in 22 assembly constituencies of six electoral districts of Manipur as Phase-II polls in Manipur.
The last date of scrutiny of second phase polls in Manipur was yesterday. The process of scrutiny for 21 assembly constituencies completed yesterday. But the scrutiny of Chandel (ST) assembly constituency was adjourned and it was completed today only.
In Chandel assembly constituency, four candidates filed their nomination papers including two candidates on the ticket of Naga People's Front (NPF). The last date of withdrawal of candidature for second phase polls in Manipur is tomorrow and the voting will be held on 5th March.
