Incessant rainfall in Tripura over the past 24 hours has displaced nearly 380 people from 116 families, according to the State Emergency Operation Centre. Affected residents from South Tripura district have been relocated to seven relief camps in the Belonia area.
While no casualties or significant property damage have been reported, authorities remain on high alert. The Muhuri River in Belonia crossed the danger mark at 17.30 meters, and the Lawgang River in Shantirbazar measured 21.90 meters, both above safe levels.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light to moderate rain across Tripura, with heavy to extremely heavy rainfall (7–20 cm) expected in South Tripura on Wednesday. South Tripura, Gomati, and Sepahijala districts may see more heavy rain on Thursday.
