NEC releases over ₹6.19 Crore for nine development projects in Manipur

The North Eastern Council (NEC) has released a total of ₹6.19 crore in May 2025 to fund nine development projects across the state of Manipur. This significant allocation, amounting to ₹6,19,49,507, is part of the NEC’s ongoing efforts to boost socio-economic development in the North Eastern Region (NER).
The funding, as documented in the recently released NEC Yearbook 2025, will support a wide range of sectors including tourism, industry, agriculture, transport and communication, science and technology, human resource development, irrigation, flood control and water management, as well as the promotion of culture and heritage.
Published annually by the NEC Secretariat in Shillong, the NEC Yearbook is a comprehensive resource that captures key development milestones and socio-economic indicators across the region. The 2025 edition offers updated insights into various projects and initiatives that are shaping the growth trajectory of the eight northeastern states.
According to the NEC, the release of funds is aimed at accelerating regional development and ensuring balanced progress across multiple sectors. The council emphasized the importance of these projects in addressing critical gaps and enhancing the quality of life for people in Manipur.
