Police arrests three notorious thieves
Apr 24, 2024Police personnel of East Agartala Police Station arrested three thieves associated with broad day light theft in the house of Advocate Biplab Bhattacharjee at Math Chowmuhani on Tuesday.
The police stated that, on Tuesday evening they received a complaint from Advocate Biplab Bhattacharjee regarding the theft at his house. Accordingly police personnel from East Agartala Police Station went to the spot of the theft for investigation. Police saw a CCTV camera near the house of Biplab Bhattacharjee and after going through the CCTV footage police identified a person entering the house.
Immediately Police have activated their sources and arrested the person identified as Rahul Das from his rental house at Town Indranagar on Tuesday night and also recovered Rs 1.36 lakh from his possession. After interrogating Rahul Das revealed the names of his two sub-ordinates, who were also arrested from Town Indranagar area. The other arrested thieves have been identified as Binoy Saha and Amit Roy. They will be produced before the court on Wednesday, said cops.
Some young people are taking their lives to the brink of extinction, like heroin and brown sugar. Being addicted to drugs, they are also involved in various anti-social activities. Unable to raise money for drugs, some are organizing thefts at various homes and shops, which has led to an increase in thefts, said police.
