One held with Ganja, pistol and live ammunition
Sep 28, 2023Tripura police on Wednesday mid-night arrested one person and seized a pistol, nine live rounds of ammunition and 4 kilograms of cannabis (ganja) worth Rs 1 lakh from his possession at Sidhai area under Sidhai Police Station.
The police stated that they received a information regarding suspicious vehicle bearing number TR01 BU 0387, on the basis of the information police personnel from Sidhai Police Station rushed to the spot and intercepted the vehicle.
During meticulous search police officials found a pistol, nine live rounds of ammunition, 4 kilograms of cannabis (ganja) and a weighing machine. The arrested person has been identified as Ranjan Debbarma resident of Abhicharan area under Lefunga police station.
Moreover, the estimated value of the confiscated cannabis (ganja) in the illicit market amounts to approximately Rs 1 lakh.
