AR organizes rally and medical camp


As part of Assam Rifles Civic Action Plan, an Ex-Servicemen (ESM) rally cum medical camp was successfully conducted at Kunjaban garrison, Agartala, on Friday. The event was aimed at providing essential healthcare services, addressing the grievances of veterans, and maintaining stronger ties with them. The event received an overwhelming response, with 153 ESM, three Veer Naris, eight widows, 457 civilians, and 136 school children attending the event.

Comprehensive medical services were extended to attendees free of cost which included general medical check ups, free distribution of medicines, dental check-ups, specialist like paediatrician, gynaecologist, and psychiatrist. Apart from medical assistance, the event also facilitated several welfare and grievance redressal services.  State Bank of India (SBI) provided assistance to  banking related services. The Grievance Redressal Cell was set up to address concerns of veterans and solving their problems. A  Canteen Stores Department extension counter was also opened to  facilitate ESM to purchase essential goods.

Assam Rifles remains steadfast in its commitment to the welfare of ESM and their families and  engage with the local community. This event reinforced its role as the Sentinels of the Northeast.
