Minister Sushanta Chowdhury calls to include Tripura tourist destinations in international map


Two days ahead of the G20 summit here in Agartala, the state tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Friday chaired a review meeting here at the conference hall of the Tripura State Tourism Development Corporation office and said that aiming to the boost the state’s tourism sector, there is a need to include the tourist destinations of the state in the map of international tourism.

Agartala is all set to host the G20 Science Summit commencing from April 3 next with the arrival of international delegates from various countries. The summit will take place here in the indoor exhibition hall of Hapania International Fair Ground.

During the review meeting, the minister highlighted various issues in the development of the tourism industry in the state. He laid emphasis on launching package tours based on the tourist destinations of the state, developing tea garden-based tourist centers, constructing boat houses in Dumbur reservoir and for more promotion of the tourist destinations of the state so as to attract more tourists from the country and abroad.

He directed the authorities of the TTDC to appoint brand ambassadors for state for the promotion of the tourist destinations. He also suggested establishing a of cultural stage and food courts at Ujjayanta Palace here at Agartala.
