MLA Dipak Majumder honors eminent educators on Guru Purnima

On the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima, a day dedicated to honouring teachers and mentors across India, MLA and Mayor Dipak Majumder, paid heartfelt tribute to distinguished educators and mentors from his constituency.

Guru Purnima, observed on the full moon day of the Hindu month of Ashadha, holds profound spiritual and cultural significance. It is traditionally a time when students and disciples express gratitude to their gurus—those who guide and enlighten.

To mark the day, MLA Dipak Majumder personally visited the homes of several respected figures in the field of education and sports. He first honoured Dr. Dhananjoy Gan Choudhury, a veteran educationist and the current President of the Tripura Board of Secondary Education, recognizing his lifelong service to the field of education. Dr. Choudhury was presented with a token of appreciation as a gesture of respect.

The MLA also felicitated Bishweshwar Nandi, a celebrated coach and recipient of the prestigious Dronacharya Award, who has significantly contributed to shaping national-level athletes from the region.

Speaking on the occasion, Dipak Majumder said, “Our teachers and mentors are the pillars of our society. On this sacred day of Guru Purnima, I extend my deepest gratitude to those who have dedicated their lives to guiding others.”

The initiative received widespread appreciation from the community, highlighting the enduring respect for teachers and mentors in Indian culture. The gesture served as a reminder of the invaluable role educators play in shaping both individuals and society at large.
