2 NLFT outfit held after crossing Indo-Bangla border
Dec 15, 2023Two self-styled commanders of the banned National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) outfit were arrested from Simna along the India-Bangladesh international border on Thursday night.
The NLFT militants were identified as Sachin Debbarma and another Utpal Debbarma. According to the police, the duo was detained soon after they crossed the border to enter I to the Indian territory from their Bangladesh hideout.
Based on a specific information, police laid a trap along the border at Simna on Thursday night, following which they were apprehended, said police.
Both of them were produced before the court seeking their police custody for interrogation as both of them were accused of large-scale killing, murder and mayhem of civilians and security personnel besides, extortion and abduction.
