Minister Sushanta Chowdhury reacts sharp on resignation of 2 MLAs

Agartala, Feb 07: Soon after the resignation of two senior MLAs of the ruling BJP party Sudip Roy Barmana and Ashish Kumar Saha in Tripura on Monday, the state Information and Cultural Affair Minister Sushanta Chowdhury who was once known as close aid of Barman stated that this will not put any impact on the party during the ensuing 2023 general assembly poll in the state. Addressing a press conference on Monday evening at the party office, Chowdhury targeted the statement of Sudip Roy Barman and said, “I condemn the statement of Sudip babu and Ashish babu that they said as ‘very soon this government will be rendered to minority’.”

“It has come up very clear from such statements that their aim was to drop down the government rather than working for the people of this state. I condemn such statements made by Sudip Roy Barman who once held a key portfolio of the ruling BKP led coalition government,” Chowdhury said. Reacting sharp on the resignation of the two MLAs, Chowdhury further said, “This shall not put any impact on the government and the party as a whole.”

“It’s a very deep rooted conspiracy against the government that both the MLAs are hatching because we have seen that I along with Sudip Roy Barman and others had quit the Congress party and joined BJP to end the misrule of the CPI-M party and work for the people during the 2018 poll, but the same persons like Sudip Roy Barman and Ashish Kumar Saha are now saying that they were suffocated in the BJP party and are now relaxed that they had quit BJP to join the congress again which was once suffocative for them.”
