World Malaria Day 2024 observed in Tripura


A programme was organized at Raj Bhavan on Thursday to observe the World Malaria Day 2024.  

Addressing the programme, Governor of Tripura Indrasena Reddy Nallu said that each year on April 25th, the world unites for World Malaria Day to raise awareness about this serious mosquito-borne illness. Governor of Tripura Indrasena Reddy Nallu urged all concerned officials to come forward unitedly to eradicate malaria from the state.

World Malaria Day is observed on April 25, every year and is a day designated by the World Health Organization (WHO) to create awareness about malaria and accelerate efforts to eradicate the disease.

Malaria is a life-threatening disorder caused by parasites that are transmitted to human beings through the bites of infected mosquitoes. The disease is both preventable and curable, but it remains a worrisome public health issue, especially in the tropical and subtropical countries around the world.

The Joint Mission Director of National Health Mission, Tripura Unit Binoy Bhushan Das and others were present.
