Union HM Amit Shah to reach Tripura on Jan 4 for launching BJP’s ‘Ratha Yatra’: CM Dr. Manik Saha


The Union Home Minister Amit Shah will reach in Tripura on Wednesday night for launching of the BJP’s ‘Ratha Yatra’ – a massive public outreach programme of the ruling party on January 5 from Dharmanagar in North Tripura and another from Sabroom in South Tripura.

Addressing a press conference here at Agartala BJP party headquarter, the chief minister Dr. Manik Saha said, “Union HM Amit Shah will land here at Agartala MBB Airport on Wednesday night and he will launch the party’s Ratha Yatra from Dharmanagar and Sabroom on January 5.”

“The BJP’s Ratha Yatra will end on January 12 next here at Agartala, where the BJP’s national president J P Nadda will make his presence. The Ratha yatra is targeted to touch all the 60 assembly constituencies and with this the party will begin its campaign for the ensuing assembly election,” he told reporters.

As a part of the two Rath Jatras, several public meetings and rallies have been planned, he said, adding that Amit Shah will leave the state on January 5.

Meanwhile, the BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee informed that the party’s ratha yatra will cover 1000 kms from Thursday.
