MP Biplab Kumar Deb Meets Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal in Delhi
Jul 04, 2025Member of Parliament from Tripura and former Chief Minister, Biplab Kumar Deb, met Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal, at the latter’s residence in the national capital on Thursday.
The meeting was described as a courtesy visit, during which the two leaders held discussions on a range of contemporary issues, including infrastructure development, the expansion of port and waterway connectivity, and the promotion of trade and logistics in the Northeast region.
Sources close to the leaders said the conversation also focused on ways to enhance Tripura’s strategic importance through improved inland water transport and integration with regional trade corridors.
The meeting underlines growing efforts by central and state representatives to collaborate on developmental initiatives aimed at boosting connectivity and economic growth in the North Eastern states.
