Manipur: CM N. Biren Singh flags off 15 persons with soil & rice to Delhi, under Meri Mati Mera Desh campaign


Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh today flagged off the team of fifteen persons who are leaving for Delhi along with soil and rice. The soil and rice have been collected from the sixteen districts of Manipur and these items will be kept at Amrit Vatika in New Delhi.

The flagging-off ceremony was held at Imphal this morning and ministers, MLAs, and top civil and police officials attended the function. Speaking to media persons in connection to the ceremony, Mr Biren Singh said that the Meri Mati Mera Desh has been organized on the theme of one India, strong India. The representatives of Manipur will hand over the rice and soil to the concerned authority in Delhi.

Regarding the internet ban in Manipur, the Chief Minister said that a request has been received from various sections to lift the internet ban in Manipur. A review meeting will be held today to discuss the issue. Accordingly, the decision will be taken during the meeting.
