Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Thursday ruled out the opposition I.N.D.I.A bloc’s claim of downfall of the BJP in Lok Sabha election and said that BJP’s win crossing the 400 seats in this Lok Sabha election is certain.
Talking to the reporters on the sideline of a blood donation programme here at Agartala, CM Dr Saha on Thursday said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi had already announced that this time BJP is set to cross 400 seats in this Lok Sabha election.”
Regarding Lok Sabha election in West Bengal, CM Dr Saha said, “Throughout my experience of taking part in the election campaign trail in West Bengal, I am sure that the BJP will win 32 Lok Sabha seats out of 42 in West Bengal.”
"We all are working to achieve the target. I have already visited West Bengal and campaigned for the party. I will go again to Bengal to canvas for the party. We are confident that the BJP-led NDA will win more than 400 Lok Sabha seats (out of 543 seats),” he told reporters.
The Chief Minister dismissed the opposition's claim that the BJP would secure fewer than 200 seats, stating that it was merely an attempt to rally their party's supporters.
