Minister Sudhangshu Das inaugurates Tripura Fish Festival 2025
Feb 14, 2025The state fishery minister Sudhangshu Das on Friday inaugurated the two day long Tripura Fish Festival 2025 at Purbasa.
Addressing in the inaugural ceremony the state fishery minister Sudhangshu Das said emphasis is placed on increasing fish production to meet the fish demand of the people of the state. The Department of Fisheries is working tirelessly to implement various projects of the Central and State Governments to full fill fish demand of the people of the state, the minister added.
The minister further said that about 98 percent people of the state eat fish. So, the demand for fish in the state is also higher than other states in the country. In order to meet the demand of fish, importance has been given to increase fish production in the state itself. MLA Meena Rani Sarkar, Secretary of the Department of Fisheries Deepa D Nair and others were present in the inaugural ceremony.
