Prime Minister Narendra Modi said education will be the foundation for social transformation during Amrit Kal. Prime Minister said with the futuristic and forward-looking education policy, the country will produce ideal citizens for tomorrow. PM was addressing the 75th Amrut Mahotsav of Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul Rajkot Sansthan through video conferencing today, December 24.

Lauding the impeccable work done by the Gurukul in the field of education, PM said the Gurukul is a confluence of Indian traditional and modern education which has contributed hugely to revive the old education system of India.

Prime Minister said Gurukul which began with seven students in Rajkot is currently having 40 branches across the world. He also congratulated the organisation for beginning a gurukul for girls.

He added that during a time when a country's identity was its kingdom, India was famed globally for its Gurukuls. He highlighted that when the world did not even realise what gender equality was, Indian civilization had women thinkers like Gargi, Maitreyi, and Atreyi.

The Prime Minister also recommend those gathered to pay a visit to the North East for at least 15 days, understand the Northeastern culture and write about their varied heritage.
