Tripura Observes 68th Death Anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar


The 68th death anniversary of the architect of the Indian Constitution Dr B.R. Ambedkar was being observed in various parts of Tripura.

Minister for SC welfare Sudhangshu Das pays homage to Dr. Ambedkar on his Mahaparinirvan Diwas at Ujjayanta Palace in Agartala on Friday where floral tributes were paid at the statue of the great social reformer by Tripura Minister for SC welfare Sudhangshu Das.

Speaking on the occasion Minister for SC welfare Sudhangshu Das said every word of the constitution drafted by Dr B R Ambedkar is equally relevant today. He dedicated his life to the welfare of the exploited and deprived. Besides being the architect of the Constitution, he was an immortal champion of social harmony, Mr. Das said of Ambedkar, who came from a Dalit family and rose to become one of the most important figures in Indian politics with his championing of the cause of the underprivileged. He said on Dr Ambedkar’s Mahaparinirvan Diwas it is time to remember his legacy, especially his efforts to uplift the marginalized communities, and follow in his footsteps. He also urged the young generation to follow the path shown by Dr. Ambedkar.
