CM Dr Manik Saha inaugurates Synthetic Turf football ground

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Sunday inaugurated a newly constructed synthetic turf football ground adjacent to Ganganagar English Medium School, marking another step in Tripura’s ongoing efforts to upgrade sports infrastructure across the state.
Built at an estimated cost of Rs 2.5 crore, the facility is part of a broader initiative aimed at promoting sports and providing modern training environments for aspiring athletes. The state government has been developing several such synthetic turf grounds to ensure that young talents have access to high-quality sports amenities.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Dr. Saha emphasized the government’s commitment to nurturing sporting talent and encouraging youth participation in physical activities. “This facility will not only boost the morale of young footballers but also provide them with an environment to train professionally and compete at higher levels,” he said. Minister of sports and youth affairs Tinku Roy and others were also present in the inaugural ceremony.
Local residents and sports enthusiasts welcomed the initiative, expressing hope that the new ground would inspire more young people to take up sports seriously. The state’s investment in modern sports infrastructure reflects its vision of fostering a healthier, more active generation equipped to excel in national and international arenas.
