Nagaland celebrates 62nd Statehood Day


Nagaland celebrated its 62nd Statehood Day on Sunday. It was on this day in 1963 that Nagaland became the 16th state of India. The state-level celebration was held at the Nagaland Civil Secretariat Plaza in Kohima. On the Occasion, the Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio addressed the gathering. In line with the state’s vision for progress, Chief Minister Rio also launched several important initiatives aimed at improving governance and education in the state. The celebration was marked by special presentations and cultural events.

 Nagaland Governor La. Ganesan has extended his greetings to the people of Nagaland on the historic occasion of Statehood Day. In his message, the governor urged the people to cherish the hard-earned peace, recognizing it as a precious gift. Governor Ganesan emphasized that the shared goal should be to build a society based on mutual respect, understanding, and unity. He highlighted that over the past six decades, Nagaland has made significant progress, with its cultural heritage thriving and blending tradition with modernity in a way that enriches the fabric of the state. The governor also stressed the need to intensify efforts to boost sustainable growth and provide opportunities for all.
