'BJP to rule in Tripura for another 50 years': CM Dr. Manik Saha

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Wednesday BJP will stay in power in the state for the next 50 years to work for the welfare of the people of this state.

Saha stated this while addressing a public rally at Nalua in Hrishyamukh in South Tripura district.  The Chief Minister took a jibe at the opposition CPI-M and the Congress party on Wednesday and said, “We are different from other political parties who only have violence to offer in the name of governance.”

“The political killings across the state which took place during the rule of the communist party like that of Hrishyamukh, where 69 people were killed, it explains us the kind of torture that communists had unleashed over when the party was at the helm of affairs,” he said, adding that the communist party in Tripura has always known as party of violence.

Holding the Left responsible for the genesis of political violence in states like West Bengal, Tripura and Kerala, he said, “Nowhere in India, you will find people killed for having different political affiliations from the ruling class. Wherever the Left ruled, they sowed the seed of political violence which with time turned out to be a part and parcel of the political culture.”
