CM Dr Manik Saha pitches for enhancing state’s health infrastructure


Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Monday inaugurated the first foundation day of the Tripura Government Dental College here at Agartala and said that the government is working to enhance the state’s health sector and ensure quality health care services to the people of this state.

“Our government is working in a mission mode to turn Tripura into a medical hub through enhancing infrastructure and ensuring quality health care services,” said Dr Saha. He said that the government is contemplating setting up Ayurvedic and Homeopathic colleges in the state to boost the medical infrastructure here.

He said, “The state has got its first government dental college, which is presently equipped with all modern equipment and facilities. We are now planning to introduce a Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) course in this college.”

Briefing about the action plan of the government, Dr Saha said that the ‘Mukhyamanti Jana Arogya Yojana’, health insurance scheme of the state government, will be launched shortly to benefit the people, who were left out from the Pradhan Mantri Jana Arogya Yojana. Government has a plan to establish de-addiction centres in all the eight districts of the state.
