Mizoram: Govt appoints retired IPS officer John Neihlaia as State Chief Information Commissioner


In Mizoram, the Government on Thursday appointed retired Indian Police Service (IPS) officer John Neihlaia as the State Chief Information Commissioner in the Mizoram State Information Commission. John Neihlaia joined Mizoram Police as Deputy SP in 1986 and served the police force for over 36 years. He has served the police force in various capacities in Mizoram, Delhi, and Arunachal Pradesh. John Neihlaia was decorated with the Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 2019 and DGP’s Commendation Disc in the same year. He retired from service in July this year.
 
The Mizoram Government has also appointed Retired Indian Information Service (IIS) officer Mangjangam Touthang as State Information Commissioner in the Mizoram State Information Commission as per an order issued by the Government.
 
Mr Touthang has rendered his service in various media units under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India. He was posted in various capacities in Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Delhi. He has served in the erstwhile DAVP, PIB, DFP, AIR and Doordarshan. He retired as Director (News) from DDK, Aizawl in February this year.
