Khelo India Inter-University Yoga Competition to be held in Tripura
Jan 29, 2024Tripura to host Khelo India Inter-University Yoga Competition here at Agartala Netaji Chowmuhni NSRCC. The competition will begin from February 17 next and will last till February 19, said sports minister Tinku Roy on Monday.
Addressing a press conference here at Agartala civil secretariat, the minister informed that as many as 16 teams from different universities from the county will participate in the competition, where 8 teams are of female and the rest 8 teams are of male.
He said, Khelo India University Games will have 20 categories. Out of this, 15 categories will be contested in Assam. The remaining 5 will be in other North Eastern states. Tripura will host only yoga competitions. Women Yogasana team from Tripura University will participate in this competition, he added.
The 7th North Eastern Youth Festival-2024 will be held in the state from February 26 to February 29 February this year, he said, adding that exhibition stalls of traditional food and handicrafts of different states along with various competitive events will be set up in the festival. Youth representatives of NSS and Nehru Yuva Sansthan from 8 states of North Eastern region will participate in the festival, he told reporters.
