CM Dr. Manik Saha extends financial aid to families of drowning victims
Jun 24, 2025Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Tuesday extended financial assistance to the families of three teenage boys who tragically lost their lives in a recent drowning incident at the Matripalli area of Badharghat.
The Chief Minister met the bereaved families at his official residence in Agartala, where he personally expressed his condolences and offered words of comfort during their time of grief.
As part of the State Government’s support measures, Dr. Saha handed over financial assistance of ₹4 lakh to each of the affected families. The aid aims to provide some relief amid the emotional and financial challenges they are facing following the sudden loss of their loved ones.
"This is an unimaginable tragedy, and my heart goes out to the families. The government stands with them during this difficult time and will continue to extend all possible support," Dr. Saha said.
The incident has cast a pall of gloom over the Badharghat area, where the three teenagers reportedly drowned while bathing in a local water body.
