PM Modi launches development projects worth Rs 4,400 crore in Gandhinagar


Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for various developmental projects worth Rs. 4 thousand 400 crores at Gandhinagar in Gujarat. These include projects worth 1 thousand 950 crores rupees under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar.

 Addressing the gathering, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said a house for the poor is not just a roof but it is a medium for their dignity and empowerment. The PM said the government has introduced Pradhanmantri Awas Yojana as a base to fight poverty. The PM said unlike the other housing schemes in the past that could not reach the beneficiaries on the ground, PMAY has transformed the lives of the people and given them confidence. Mr Modi reiterated the commitment of the BJP government towards the growth of the country. Talking about the challenges posed by rapid urbanization, PM Modi said the government today is focusing equally on ease of living and quality of life. He said the government is also stressing the development of connectivity among cities and making them clean.

 During the function, Mr. Modi handed over the keys of the newly built houses to the beneficiaries of PMAY and also interacted with the beneficiaries.
