Chief Electoral Officer hosts Media Interaction to strengthen election communication

In an effort to enhance coordination and transparency ahead of upcoming electoral activities, the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Tripura, organized a media interaction session today at the State Guest House in Agartala. The session witnessed active participation from editors and representatives of leading print, electronic, and digital media outlets across the state.
Presiding over the session, Chief Electoral Officer Brijesh Pandey highlighted the crucial role played by the media in disseminating accurate and timely information to the public. Additional CEO Ushajen Mog and Director of Information & Cultural Affairs Bimbisaar Bhattacharjee joined the interaction programme.
Speaking at the event, CEO Brijesh Pandey stated that media serves as a vital bridge between the Election Commission and the public. To ensure a smooth, fair, and transparent election process, continuous dialogue with the media is not just necessary—it is recommended by the Election Commission of India itself, he said.
He stressed that proactive media engagement helps to prevent the spread of misinformation and dispel any negative perceptions regarding electoral processes.
The CEO further added that such interaction sessions are key to maintaining public confidence in democratic institutions and ensuring widespread awareness of election guidelines, timelines, and voter-centric initiatives.
Veteran journalists and editors Manas Paul, Jayanta Debnath, Abhishek Dey, Sujit Dey, Manisha Pal Choudhury, Hirak Gupta and Sandeep Biswas among others were present. Representatives from media organizations were also present and shared their valuable suggestions and feedback.
