In yet another significant development to the anti-drug drive, Tripura police on Saturday detained two Bihar youths with 20 Kilograms of dry cannabis infront of the Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport here in Agartala.
The police stated that they received a information, on the basis of the information police personnel from Airport police station rushed to the spot and searched the bags of the two Bihar youths. During the search police found 20 kilograms of cannabis from their possession.
The detained were identified as Dinesh Kumar and Mohammad Shahzad both resident of Patna in Bihar.
The seized cannabis (ganja) was intended for smuggling purposes beyond Tripura's borders, said the police. Moreover, the estimated value of the confiscated marijuana (ganja) in the illicit market amounts to approximately Rs 2 lakh.
