IT Minister Pranajit Singha Roy launches MYYY


To provide reimbursement grant for purchasing Smartphones to the students, the state Information and Technology (IT) minister Pranajit Singha Roy on Friday launched the ‘Mukhyamantri Yuba Yogayog Yojana’ here at Agartala IT Bhavan.

Launching the scheme of the Tripura government, the minister said that smartphones are essential for students to make Digital India as well as Digital Tripura program a success. Students can play a key role in the development of the state through digitalisation, he said.

He said that this year, the scheme will be accessible through the Beneficiary Management (BMS) portal. Application submission, verification, approval and DBT will be done through BMS portal https://bms.tripura.gov.in only, which emphasizes the data transparency among beneficiaries, he added.

Final year students studying in all government educational institutions of the state can apply for this scheme by January 15, 2024, he said, adding that the government will provide this assistance to the bank account of the students.

The minister further said that under the ‘Mukhyamantri Yuba Yogayog Yojana’, the government will provide an amount of Rs.5000 to the beneficiaries so that they can easily buy smartphones for their education and can complete their education without having any problem.

Rs. 6 crore have been allocated in the budget of the current financial year for this scheme with the target of 12 thousand students in the academic year 2023-24, but on the initiative of Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, it has been decided to bring at least 19,796 final year students studying in all government educational institutions of the state under this scheme in the academic year 2023-24.
