Tripura celebrates International Day of World's Indigenous People

The International Day of the World's Indigenous People is the day to ponder over the economic, social, cultural and linguistic development of the Janajati people of the nation.
Notably, the International Day of the World's Indigenous People is observed every year on 9 August to generate awareness and to safeguard the rights of the world's indigenous population. This Day also recognizes the achievements and contributions that indigenous people make for the environmental protection.
This year's theme is: Indigenous Youth as Agents of Change for Self-determination.
