In yet another major crackdown on illegal infiltration, the police personnel from East Agartala police station have detained three Bangladeshi nationals including one girl for entering India without any valid travel document on Friday from Agartala Chandrapur Inter-State Bus Terminus.
The Officer-in-Charge of the East Agartala police station Rana Chatterjee informed there was information about the suspicious activity of three people in Agartala Chandrapur Inter-State Bus Terminus, on the basis of the information police personnel from East Agartala police station rushed to the spot and detained them.
Preliminary probe revealed that the Bangladeshis crossed the borders illegally and entered Indian soil. They were produced before the court on Saturday. The three Bangladeshis were identified as Mohammed Sirajul Sheikh (22), Mohammed Alamin (20) and Fatema Begum (18).
