African swine fever detected in Khowai
Nov 02, 2023Agartala, Nov 02: Special precautionary measures have been taken due to African swine infection in the pig farm of one Rabindra Das at Ramchandraghat under Khowai block.
In his office circular, the Principal Secretary of the Animal Resources Development Department said that African swine fever has been detected in pigs after sample testing by RTPCR method.
Rabindra Das's pig farm in East Ramchandraghat has been declared as the epicentre or source of the disease to control and prevent African swine fever infection, he informed further.
An area up to 1 km in all directions from this epicentre has been declared as Infected Zone (IZ) and an area up to 10 km in all directions has been declared as Surveillance Zone (SZ).
